IP Unity Launches Visual Voicemail Solution for Cable Operators, Adding Innovative Triple Play TTI Server from Integra5 - Enables: Visual Message Waiting Indicator (VMWI)

MILPITAS, Calif. and LEXINGTON, Mass.(May 3, 2004) - IP Unity, the market leader in IP service solutions for blended TDM and IP networks, announced today that it has integrated its flagship voicemail and unified messaging platform with the UniTVTM Television - Telephony Integration (TTI) server from Integra5, a pioneer in innovative TTI technologies. This new feature set enhances the delivery of Visual Voicemail features now in demand by cable operators and will be unveiled at this week's NCTA conference and National Show in New Orleans, Louisiana, at IP Unity booth # 2603.

Visual Voicemail lets cable operators use one network platform for consumer access to home, work or wireless voicemails, and unified messages from devices such as a home or office computer, PDA,  regular home phone, and now, the TV set. IP Unity has expanded its basic voicemail capability with advanced web service tools, rendering a more complete unified messaging platform through TV based visual voicemail features.

"IP Unity is helping cable operators to meet the rising consumer appetite for new IP Telephony services and features," stated Dr. Keith Bhatia, IP Unity senior VP of Business Development. "Our leading solutions in unified messaging (UM) are now enhanced to enable premium services with Integra5's deployment-ready features, including its television message waiting display features. Integra5 has established a strong track record in high quality television-based messaging technology, and we look forward to the end-to-end delivery of these solutions within our unified messaging applications."

"Integra5 developed its UniTVTM technology to allow triple play service providers to integrate telephony and messaging with television infrastructures, in a scalable manner that is compatible with their existing networks," described Integra5 president and CEO Dr. Eyal Bartfeld. "Because cable operators have shown a strong preference for IP Unity's IP service delivery platform, we are now able to leverage the market position of the company's solutions into active receptivity for our features."

Voicemail and unified messaging play an important role in attracting and maintaining subscribers. Subscribers have been shown to prefer a visible message waiting indication over the currently available stutter dial tone indication offered by central-office based voicemail services. By enabling TV visual message waiting indication, IP Unity and Integra5 will enable triple play service providers to increase penetration of paid services such as voicemail and unified messaging, to differentiate IP telephony versus traditional telephone service, and to deploy technology that leverages the bundling potential of TV, telephony and Internet features.

IP Unity will provide the integrated Visual Voicemail solution, including on-screen Visual Message Waiting Indicator (VMWI) and Caller ID display applications.
