Integra5 Joins Cedar Point’s ServiceClass Partner Program and Presents Live Demo of TV Picture Caller ID at Cable-Tec Expo
Proven Interoperability between UniTV and SAFARI C³ Media Switching System will help Accelerate Deployment of Enhanced Telephony Services
BURLINGTON, Mass. – June 15, 2005 – Integra5 Communications, the pioneer in converged quad play messaging and communications technology, today announced it has joined the ServiceClass™ Partner Program of Cedar Point Communications, Inc., the leader in integrated packet-based voice switching technologies for the cable telecommunications industry.
As part of this initiative, the two companies have proven interoperability between Integra5’s UniTV converged services platform and Cedar Point’s SAFARI C³ Media Switching System and are showcasing a live TV Picture Caller ID demonstration at SCTE’s Cable-Tec Expo (Cedar Point, booth 547). The ServiceClass program helps accelerate revenue growth opportunities for cable operators by bringing together “best-in-class” voice products and services from technology leaders into a set of standards-based, packaged solutions. Integra5 joined the program in the Enhanced Services Layer category.
Integra5’s TV Picture Caller ID offers notifications with pictures of incoming callers on TVs and PCs before the phone even rings. Subscribers can personalize the banner notifications by assigning names, color backgrounds and pictures to appear for certain phone numbers via their cable operator’s web portal.
“Cable telephony is expanding an already-robust business to create clear and compelling differentiation in the market through enhanced telephony services,” said Dave Spear, executive vice president, strategy and market development for Cedar Point Communications. “Integra5’s proven success in multiple deployments and their leadership in advanced services that converge telephony and TV features complements our integrated, switched VoIP solution.”
Integra5’s UniTV converged services platform combines signal and media delivery from multiple networks (telephone, data, cellular and cable TV), back office communications and a flexible service creation environment to enable high-demand products, such as Caller ID, voicemail messaging and other advanced communications services to new devices, such as TVs and PCs. The UniTV platform supports Integra5’s three product suites, UniTV Visual Telephony, UniTV Visual Messaging and UniComposer™, and has been commercially deployed by service providers since mid 2004.
“Cable operators view converged services as much more than just putting basic caller ID notifications on TV. There is an opportunity to take those services to the next level through subscriber customization and converging even more services, such as voicemail, IM and SMS, with their core TV service,” said Dr. Eyal Bartfeld, president and CEO of Integra5. “Our work with Cedar Point helps us simply and cost-effectively deliver what service providers want – fully-interoperable, end-to-end solutions for rapid roll out of converged services while avoiding integration and support headaches.”
The patented UniTV technology is standards-based, features a distributed architecture that can scale to support up to millions of subscribers, and has the processing performance required for real-time delivery of signals and information between data, telephone (public switched and IP), cable TV (traditional and IP) and cellular networks. It also supports multiple set-top boxes, PCs and phone lines per household.
SAFARI C³ is the only totally integrated carrier class VoIP switch that incorporates – at no additional cost – all of the components that make up the PacketCable voice switching infrastructure, eliminating the need for operators to purchase, maintain, upgrade and regression test separate Call Management Servers, Media Gateways, Record Keeping Servers, Announcement Servers, Signaling Gateways, Ethernet Switches and CALEA servers.
